Skiing & snowboarding

The Gerlitzen family ski area is located in the centre of Carinthia. From December to April, winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy fantastic panoramic skiing here, which you can reach in just 45 minutes from Villa Michel. On 44 kilometres of alpine slopes of all levels of difficulty, everyone will find the ideal conditions for lots of winter fun. You can start at one of the three valley stations Arriach, Klösterle or Bodensdorf. Families, beginners and returning skiers can make their first turns on 13 kilometres of blue-marked slopes. The wide and perfectly groomed slopes invite you to enjoy skiing before trying out the 28 kilometres of red marked slopes. Experts will find some challenges on the 3 kilometres of black marked slopes or the permanent mogul slope.

The little ones can start their first attempts on the boards in one of the three large practice areas with children’s and snow bear land. Always on hand: the Gerlitzen Bino-Bear and the teams from the local ski schools, who are on hand to help with the first turns and provide comprehensive support for the kids. On Fridays there is always the big ski and snowboard race on the Moser slope, where the youngest skiers can try out their newly learned skills right away. In the Gerlitzen Kids’ Snowpark at the Kanzelhöhe middle station, children and beginners will find plenty of obstacles to practice the latest tricks and put their skills to the test. Among other things, a Funtube tub, a Kids Flat Box, a Kids Up&Down Box, a Kids Rainbow Box and several waves and jumps are waiting to be tried out.

Boarders and freeriders will find wonderful natural tracks, cornices and deep snow runs on the Gerlitzen. The freeride and freestyle park in the summit area of Klösterleabfahrt II is a real insider tip. In the ski area, a total of 12.9 kilometres of routes with untouched powder snow slopes invite you to enjoy wonderful descents.
